Insight Meditation and Yoga for Clarity, Compassion, and Balance

Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health 57 Interlaken Road, Stockbridge, United States

With David Schouela (yoga) Develop a balanced spiritual path of deepening wisdom and compassion using the two ancient practices of insight meditation and yoga. Insight meditation helps you develop more calmness and clarity as you rest in the breath, recognizing and releasing old reactive patterns. You can bring the heart of compassion toward your old habits and find yourself feeling more compassion for others as well. Yoga practice teaches you to focus attention in the body, let go of self-judgment and attitudes of striving, and embrace yourself with kindness. Daryl and David have been teaching together for six years and create a warm, respectful and welcoming environment for learning and engagement. With meditation instructions and practices, three daily yoga sessions, teachings, discussions and group exercises, this will be a balanced and energizing retreat! All levels of experience are welcome; teachings will be both accessible and profound. Meditation and Yoga for Embodied Presence

Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health 57 Interlaken Road, Stockbridge, United States

For all levels. Meditation and yoga are mutually supportive awareness practices that serve to deepen insight. You can practice yoga as meditation-in-motion, and practice insight meditation to bring the quality of compassionate self-observation to your sensory and mental experiences. Together, these techniques help you recognize the changing nature of your sensations, thoughts, mental states, and reactive patterns. When you release identification with your habits, those habits no longer drive you. In a silent retreat suitable for both beginners and those with meditation and yoga experience, cultivate embodied presence through sitting and walking meditation and three yoga sessions each day. There will be opportunities to ask questions and discuss your practice with the meditation teacher in small-group meetings and individually, by request.   Co-Teacher: David Schouela David Schouela, RYT 500, is a Kripalu Yoga teacher whose current primary focus is teaching yoga to teens and adults with complex trauma and chronic treatment-resistant PTSD. David is on the teaching faculty for the Trauma Sensitive Yoga certificate program offered through the Trauma Center at JRI in Brookline, Massachusetts.
